Laura Hartwig Winery
Laura Hartwig stands as a testament to family legacy and winemaking excellence. The estate’s origins trace back to 1928 when the land was acquired “for fun” by the family patriarch. In 1966, it was passed down to Laura Bisquertt, who, alongside her husband Alejandro Hartwig, envisioned transforming the fertile grounds into a vineyard. After years abroad, the couple returned to Chile, and by 1994, they had established their winery, launching their inaugural Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva in 1995.
Today, the Hartwig family’s dedication continues through their children, who uphold the tradition of producing premium wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Colchagua Valley. The winery cultivates a diverse array of grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Sauvignon Blanc. Among their esteemed offerings is the “Edición de Familia,” a Bordeaux-style blend crafted from the estate’s oldest vineyards, showcasing the family’s commitment to quality and heritage.
Visitors to Viña Laura Hartwig are treated to more than just exceptional wines. The estate offers experiences such as carriage rides through the vineyards and guided tastings that delve into the winery’s rich history and winemaking processes. The winery’s architecture, inspired by classical regional designs, complements the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscape, providing a serene backdrop for guests.
Viña Laura Hartwig’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. Their wines have garnered acclaim from critics and enthusiasts alike, with the “Edición de Familia” receiving a 92-point rating and praise for its bold structure and complexity . As a proud representative of the Colchagua Valley, the winery continues to contribute to the region’s reputation as one of the world’s premier wine destinations.
