Colchagua Wineries

Casa Silva Winery

Casa Silva, is considered one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in Colchagua Valley. The blend between both modern and antiquity makes this one of the more popular vineyards to visit in Chile. Established in 1997, the winery traces its roots to 1892 when Emilio Bouchon, a Frenchman from Bordeaux, planted the first vines in the region. Today, the Silva family continues to honor this legacy, blending ancestral knowledge with modern practices to produce exceptional wines.

The winery’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its practices. Viña Casa Silva was among the first to certify 100% of its vineyards under the Wines of Chile Sustainability Code.

Casa Silva’s vineyards span diverse terroirs, each contributing unique characteristics to their wines. The Los Lingues Vineyard, recognized as a Denomination of Origin, is renowned for its exceptional Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Paredones Vineyard, influenced by the nearby Pacific Ocean, produces cool-climate varietals like Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and Pinot Noir. In the southern region of Futrono, near Lake Ranco, the winery cultivates rare varietals such as Riesling and Pinot Noir, showcasing the versatility of Chile’s viticultural landscape.

Internationally acclaimed, Viña Casa Silva has garnered numerous accolades, cementing its status as a leading Chilean winery. It was named “Best Winery of Chile – 2020” by the Catad’Or Wine Awards, Latin America’s most prestigious wine competition. The winery’s dedication to excellence has also led to its recognition as the most awarded Chilean winery of the 21st century.
