Colchagua Wineries

Francois Lurton

Located in picturesque hills of Chile’s Lolol Valley which is also part of the greater Colchagua wine region.

Founded in 1997 by fifth-generation French vintner François Lurton who represents the 5th generation of the Bordeaux Lurton Family and is the product of decades of global winemaking experience.

The winery is a perfect blend of European winemaking heritage and South American soul. After producing wines across France, Spain, Argentina, and beyond, Lurton was captivated by Chile’s untamed landscapes, rich soils, and unique microclimates.

At the heart of François Lurton’s philosophy is a commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. Long before sustainability became a global priority, Lurton was cultivating vineyards with minimal intervention—letting nature guide the process from vine to bottle. The winery is now certified organic, and its wines express purity, balance, and a deep respect for the land. Signature varietals include Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, each one carefully crafted to reflect the distinct character of the Lolol Valley’s coastal-influenced terroir.

The estate’s flagship wines, such as Clos de Lolol and Gran Lurton, have gained critical acclaim internationally, earning high scores from Wine Enthusiast, James Suckling and Decanter. Clos de Lolol Tinto is a bold and structured red blend, consistently impresses with its elegance and complexity while Araucano Sauvignon Blanc is celebrated for its zesty freshness and minerality, clearly inspired by Lurton’s Bordeaux roots.

François Lurton built a home on the estate to live part-time in Chile, overseeing production firsthand. His deep involvement ensures the wines not only meet high standards but also tell a story of passion, innovation, and place.
