Apaltagua Winery
Nestled in Colchagua’s prestigious Apalta Valley, Apaltagua began in 1995, when a successful American businessman, Edward Tutunjian, was on vacation in Chile and fell in love with both the country and its surprising wines. It was at that moment that he decided to invest in Chile and acquired his first vineyard, La Pancora, in the Curicó Valley. Over the years, Apaltagua expanded its reach, acquiring properties in the Maule, Maipo, Colchagua, and San Antonio Valleys, each chosen for their unique terroirs and ideal grape-growing conditions.
The winery’s vineyards, some of which are over 70 years old, produce a range of varietals including Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Chardonnay. Notably, Apaltagua is renowned for its Carmenère, with the “Envero” Gran Reserva and “Signature” lines receiving international acclaim.
Beyond its exceptional wines, Apaltagua is dedicated to environmental sustainability. The winery employs practices such as composting, rainwater harvesting, and mechanical weed control to minimize its ecological footprint.
