Encierra Winery

Encierra is a family owned boutique winery located in Peralillo between the coast and town of Santa Cruz in Colchagua Valley.

The Eyzaguirre Echenique family has been part of the world of winemaking for six generations. Two hundred years after the first Echenique ancestors planted vineyards in Colchagua, the company is now managed by María Ignacia Eyzaguirre, an Agricultural Engineer Oenologist, who has been involved in the Encierra project since 2000.

Having previously owned Los Vascos, the family sold their stake to the French group, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), and kept the manor house and part of the vineyard, in order to begin Encierra.

The vineyard is made up of 163 hectares planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Mourvedre.

The winery was designed in an old building which dates back to the last century. The beautiful cellar is a blend of traditional and modern technology made up of small concrete vats, French oak barrels and modern stainless steel tanks.

Daily tours and tastings are offered with a reservation.
