Apaltagua began in 1995, when the successful American businessman Edward Tutunjian was on vacation in Chile and fell in love with both the country and its surprising wines. It was at that moment that he decided to invest in Chile and acquired his first vineyard, La Pancora, located in the prestigious Curicó Valley (the 7th region). And later acquiring vineyards in Maule, Colchagua , Maipo and San Antonio in the central regions above Curicó.

Apaltagua Winery produces Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Chardonnay, Marsane, Roussane, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon the most important Carmenere and there are 7 different labels with this grape.

The only Sparkling Carmenere Rosè around the world is produced by Apaltagua.
